Entertainment Weekly

"A spectacular, rather perfect Broadway musical not only grounded in a serious love and understanding of the traditions that make a Broadway musical great but also filled with love for the very flawed, mortal characters who populate this romp."

Entertainment Weekly

Lisa Schwarzbaum

The Hollywood Reporter

"Parker and Stone have created one of the freshest original musicals in recent memory. It has tuneful songs, clever lyrics, winning characters, explosive laughs and disarmingly intimate moments. "

The Hollywood Reporter

David Rooney

The Hollywood Reporter

"While The Book of Mormon packs plenty of blissful profanity, sacrilege and politically incorrect mischief, the defining quality of this hugely entertaining show is its sweetness."

The Hollywood Reporter

David Rooney

New York Daily News

"The show is blissfully original, irreverent, outspoken and hilarious. And all that's tucked inside good -- no, great -- old-fashioned musical."

New York Daily News

Joe Dziemianowicz

The New York Times

"These numbers are witty, ridiculous, impeccably executed and genuinely stirring."

Irreverent Musical Comedy
"Irreverent musical comedy about a couple of Mormon missionaries in Uganda. Humorously satirizes all religions in general, rather than one in particular. "

Clever, well performed and staged, great music, but very sacrilegious
"The story was very entertaining, the music was great, the performers were wonderful. It was very clever. I would recommend it to everyone with a sense of humor who won't be offended by the many many sacrilegious references. "

Excellent show - very funny
"Appealed to my sense of humour. Very irreverent and appealing to anyone who is religion skeptical or atheist (like me). The cast was superb and maintained a highly energetic pace throughout the show. Well done!"

Musical divertido e crítico
"O musical faz juz ao sucesso. Músicas que grudam na cabeça, artistas completos que dançam e cantam maravilhosamente bem. A peça é uma ótima sátira e cheia de boas piadas e muitas risadas."

Totally hilarious
"Suggest reading about the play before attending. If you are offended by foul language, don't go. If you like a good crude comedy, go. Actors are historically funny. "

Absolutely amazing and hilarious!
"I saw it with my college aged son and we could not stop laughing. I didn’t know the back story of the Mormon church and it’s beginnings but hot dang it I do now. All of the actors are incredibly talented and keep the audience engaged and laughing. Highly recommend this one for adults however not for those who may be sensitive to jokes about religion or Jesus. Astoundingly fun!
"We laughed at this wonderful, bawdy show until it hurt. The craziness never stopped. The voices and dancing were superb as well. Caveat: absolutely NOT for youngsters, deeply religious adults or for people who are offended by profanity. For us it was a highlight of our trip to NY. 🩷🩷🩷🩷"

Wonderful fun
"This is sheer entertainment as long as you are broad minded. A laugh a minute and very clever story line and script. The theatre staff were very helpful and it’s a cozy place. Seat leg room in the mezzanine restrictive if you’re tall and have dodgy knees but we had pre empted that by booking one seat at the end of the row. Not many shows we would watch again but this one we certainly would. "

About The Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. One missionary, Elder Price, is an enthusiastic go-getter with a strong dedication to his faith, while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a socially awkward but well meaning nerd whose tendency to embroider the truth soon lands him in trouble. Upon their arrival in Africa, Elders Price and Cunningham learn that in a society plagued by AIDS, poverty and violence, a successful mission may not be as easy as they expected.
