Entertainment Weekly

"A spectacular, rather perfect Broadway musical not only grounded in a serious love and understanding of the traditions that make a Broadway musical great but also filled with love for the very flawed, mortal characters who populate this romp."

Entertainment Weekly

Lisa Schwarzbaum

The Hollywood Reporter

"Parker and Stone have created one of the freshest original musicals in recent memory. It has tuneful songs, clever lyrics, winning characters, explosive laughs and disarmingly intimate moments. "

The Hollywood Reporter

David Rooney

The Hollywood Reporter

"While The Book of Mormon packs plenty of blissful profanity, sacrilege and politically incorrect mischief, the defining quality of this hugely entertaining show is its sweetness."

The Hollywood Reporter

David Rooney

New York Daily News

"The show is blissfully original, irreverent, outspoken and hilarious. And all that's tucked inside good -- no, great -- old-fashioned musical."

New York Daily News

Joe Dziemianowicz

The New York Times

"These numbers are witty, ridiculous, impeccably executed and genuinely stirring."

Funny and great music.
"The story is wonderfully done and engaging. Satirically mastered by the creator of South Park. For those with pure thoughts be aware of the content and language, it can be very colorful and in your face. Certainly not recommended for children "

So much fun!
"As ever, Book of Mormon is terrific--I always laugh until my face hurts! The June 2025 cast was outstanding, and put on a wonderful show. Very lively and entertaining for anyone who doesn't get easily offended by making fun of religious trappings generally and the Mormon church specifically. If you do, see something else! If you don't, and just want to laugh and have fun, this comedy show is one of the best! "

Hilarious!!
"I loved the entire show. The show makes fun of most religions. My 17 year old son and three 40 something adults were all laughing the entire time. I would NOT recommend for preteen or younger due to language and some sexual comments. "

Converted!!!!!
"Having been to a few musicals and watched countless on TV I could safely say it is not my favourite genre so upon visiting New York from Australia the brightlights of Broadway seduced me to give it another chance. And boy did I love it! The show was hilariously upbeat, great storytelling and the cast were sensational. The only low point now is deciding should I wear chiffon or glitter before the next show."

Belly Laughs
"My daughter and I went specifically to NY to see this show and it was worth it! We laughed hard and could not stop smiling. The show made sense from start to finish a little raw and a lot of shock factors indeed but that is what made it feel so real and funny. The audience was laughing hard and smiling throughout. Thank you everyone. My daughter loved it and she got a picture with the cast. They even commented to her that she was in the fourth row, and they loved what she wore. Thank you thank you we will never forget the Majic. "

About The Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. One missionary, Elder Price, is an enthusiastic go-getter with a strong dedication to his faith, while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a socially awkward but well meaning nerd whose tendency to embroider the truth soon lands him in trouble. Upon their arrival in Africa, Elders Price and Cunningham learn that in a society plagued by AIDS, poverty and violence, a successful mission may not be as easy as they expected.
