Excellent reinvention of CATS!
"I had a great time at Cats: The Jellicle Ball! It's an extraordinary reimagining of the classic musical. I wasn't sure whether the ballroom setting would work, but it really does. Some caution about the theater though. I sat in the second row balcony of the theater. The seats are narrow and extremely close to the seat in front of you. I am over six feet tall and did not fit in the seats, which was a first for me. Thankfully the seat next to me was empty and I was able to sit sideways. Also, the production has extended the stage to accommodate the runway. There was about 10-15% of the show I literally could not see because it extended beyond the balcony field of vision. In short, the show is definitely worth seeing, but don't sit in the balcony. And if you're tall, make sure you have an aisle seat."

A totally different Cats
"This was a totally different production of cats. All cats can be a controversial show. I think anyone who loves the original will love this one and anyone who disliked the original should give this one a chance. It is joyful and magical."

Voguing Cats
"This was magical and a feast for the eyes. Seamlessly wove the past and present, honored the traditions of ballroom and the kitchy-ness of CATS. The dancers in this show were some of the best I've seen in years. I kept thinking about the years of dance training represented on that stage. Absolutely loved this show. THIS is how you do a revival! "

High energy adaptation that just makes sense
"This felt like what Cats was always supposed to be. The entire cast was incredibly talented and the room is infused with such energy! The 500 costumes Queen Jean designed and built are stunning and the directions and choreography all melded together seamlessly. What a joy to witness a truly diverse queer-centered story of celebration. "

About Cats: The Jellicle Ball

Come one, come all – The Jellicle Cats are having a BALL. Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber's worldwide phenomenon CATS is reimagined in a production that smashed records, won awards and left New York City purring. And now CATS: The Jellicle Ball ascends to Broadway in a kaleidoscope of glittering spectacle, iconic music and electrifying ballroom choreography that The New York Times calls “a lightning strike that sets joy free!

Broadway meets Runway in the fiercest event of the season, directed by Obie Award winners Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch, with choreography by Obie Award winners and New York City Ballroom legends Omari Wiles (House of Ricci) and Arturo Lyons (House of Miyake-Mugler). Don’t miss this “sexy celebration of love and resilience” (
New York Daily News) and “the most exhilarating fun that can be had in the theater” (The Washington Post).
