Exactly what you want - not what you expect
"I thought the concept and execution of the concept was absolutely brilliant. I love the original and was nervous that I would find out I was a 'purist' - not even close! It was fun, beautiful, and heartfelt in all the right ways. Unexpectedly the best queer theatre I've ever seen. It's loud, it's fun, I recommend it for anyone who simply enjoys a FUN night of theatre. "

Fun experience
"I really enjoyed the remastering of the original cats. There’s a lot of wonderful symbolism of triumph, and support and acceptance for one another that I really enjoyed. If you’re not familiar with cats or the original remastered version before it made it to Broadway, I recommend doing some research on it so that it’s easier to follow during the actual show. But overall a great show and cast! I enjoyed my time watching it. "

A beautiful celebration
"Cats Jellicle Ball is one of those shows for true lovers of what theater can be. It is transformative. It pushes boundaries. Most importantly, however, it is a beautiful celebration of art, life, and being true to oneself. Keeping the original music from Cats while adding dimension to the characters and story, the Jellicle Ball does what Ball does best - takes something kitsch (sorry Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber) and raises it to art. If you have the opportunity to see this show, don't miss it!"

We went 100% Fan Girl during this show!
"My 20 year old son and I sat front row center for this spectacular event and it did not disappoint. I loved the interaction of the characters with the audience continuously drawing us in. The talent and costumes were perfection! We cheered like middle school girls at a concert! It was so much fun! "

Finally a Cats worthy of praise
"Well done, energetic, surprising and fun. Never thought I would say that about Cats, as The only moment was Betty Buckley singing the life out of Memory. Memory was my least favorite of this, the rest was brilliant"

Great fun revisiting a childhood favorite
"Surprisingly reverent to the original score. Some more successful character updates and interpretations than others. Bombalurina was a young homage to Marsha P. Johnson. 😍 Old Deutoronomy was FABULOUS. Creatively introduced and wove in ballroom culture."

A Raucous Time…in the best Possible Way
"My grandchild (16) asked for tickets for Christmas. A trip to NYC is always a fun time. Cats: The Jellicle Ball was a good time. Exactly what I thought it would be but better. My favorite were the costumes! Wow, someone with great talent & eye for detail did an excellent job. The actors were amazingly talented. Everyone from grandparent, adult kid & grands all would recommend the show."

Fun but not what I was expecting
"It was a very specific subject matter that I was not familiar with until I went home and researched. Half the performers seemed like professional artists but the others just average. It was fun and entertaining but I would maybe pick a different show if you want an understandable storyline or traditional broadway show. "

Disappointing Cats version
"As innovative and intricate of a production this was, it is definitely a very hard story line to follow. The only good song was Memories. Definitely not a show we will recommend or repeat."

About Cats: The Jellicle Ball

Come one, come all – The Jellicle Cats are having a BALL. Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber's worldwide phenomenon CATS is reimagined in a production that smashed records, won awards and left New York City purring. And now CATS: The Jellicle Ball ascends to Broadway in a kaleidoscope of glittering spectacle, iconic music and electrifying ballroom choreography that The New York Times calls “a lightning strike that sets joy free!

Broadway meets Runway in the fiercest event of the season, directed by Obie Award winners Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch, with choreography by Obie Award winners and New York City Ballroom legends Omari Wiles (House of Ricci) and Arturo Lyons (House of Miyake-Mugler). Don’t miss this “sexy celebration of love and resilience” (
New York Daily News) and “the most exhilarating fun that can be had in the theater” (The Washington Post).
