Lazy staging
"The movie is amazing - the stage play, not so much. The orchestra sits on stage while the singers parade in front of them. There is no set, so no visual cues to help the audience follow the story. No real costume changes - everyone wears black the entire performance, then at the end for the climactic scene in the cabaret - they add hats. I was disappointed as were several other audience members seated nearby."

Left at intermission
"So disappointed! Saw Chicago 20 yrs ago and it was so incredible. So I took my 30 yr old daughter to see it. The quality was so below par for broadway. The orchestra took up the majority of the stage, Roxy can’t sing or dance very well. It all felt very amateur. We actually left at intermission."

Extremely Disappointing
"I have never been so disappointed in an extremely expensive production. This was my first time seeing Chicago (have never seen the movie or read the play) and the story was extremely hard to follow. There is no set or costume changes and very minimal dialog so it was not clear what was happening. We left at intermission. Save yourself the money. The performers themselves are very talented but this particular production was a letdown. "
