Variety

"As much tribute as revival, the spirit of Fosse's genius never leaves the stage, and Chicago, under Walter Bobbie's sharp direction, will dazzle newcomers to the trademark Fosse dance style and provide a thrilling reminder to those who've seen it before just how smart, sexy and exciting this brand of choreography was, or rather, is."

Chicago--NYC--Alive with talent and sass!
"Cast was talented/nimble/engaging. Costumes were athletically spot on for the time period/dance scenes. Hair was amazing--kept trying to figure out how the curls stayed in through all of the dancing and humidity! Hosts were involved/informative. Playbill filled the intermission time well with entertaining info. Loved being surprised at the end! "

Mira does a surprisingly good job, even at 58
"The presentation opens, and doesn’t stop. Particularly impressive is Tam Mutu as Billy. I saw him ten years ago in the West End in Les Miz, another incredible performance. Having the orchestra on stage behind the actors was unique and works very well. The venue is smaller and therefore there really isn’t a bad seat in the house."

He had it coming (and we liked it)
"From the music, to the dancing, to the setting and symbolism, Chicago is as multilayered as it is enjoyable. It has you rooting for the good, the bad, and the "ugly" with every bombastic note and every poignant silence where nothing is as it seems and yet intensions are as black and white as it gets. Age range wise, it's a fun time for older audiences (think 16ish or 17 and up), so leave your little ones at home (or go and watch Aladdin or Wicked, but those are musical reviews for another day, both also great). Overall, I give Chicago 4.5 to 5 stars, wonderful musical! "

Great for a first Broadway-experience
"As we've seen this play in Budapest and London as well - and we love this era - we wanted this to be our first Broadway-show, and was a stunning hit as that on a Friday evening. A bit more frivolous and spicier compared to the other plays, great music band, giving a marvelous experience. This is what a Broadway-show people expect to be. Make sure to book in time, although there might be some last-minute tickets available. "

Great way to spend an evening
"Performance was great, really talented artists! The set is very simple but the story makes up for the lack of visuals you get with some stage shows"

A big show on a small stage.
"High energy right from the start. A smallish stage gives a very intimate feel. Music coming from on the stage (pit) is a great touch. Fun from beginning to end. "

About Chicago

Set in the legendary city during the roaring “jazz hot” 20s, Chicago tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail. Nightclub star Velma’s serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two in bed together. Driven chorus girl Roxie’s been tossed in the joint for bumping off the lover she’s been cheating on her husband with. Not one to rest on her laurels, Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton and slickster lawyer Billy Flynn, who turn Velma’s incarceration into a murder-of-the-week media frenzy, thus preparing the world for a splashy showbiz comeback. But Roxie’s got some of her own tricks up her sleeve…
