A great and entertaining show!
"I really enjoyed the songs, orchestra, the dancing and interacting with the audience throughout the performance! It was phenomenal, definitely not for children under 10 years old as there is cursing and seductive dancing. Overall a 9/10 show!!"

Excellent cast, classic songs
"The cast was very good and the songs are absolutely fantastic but it feels like it needs some updated costumes and sets. I was really surprised that most of the costumes were just black mesh. Looked more 1970’s than 20’s which I would appreciate if it seemed intentional not just cheap. It was still very fun just distracting "

Humor, crazy talent and Jinkx Monsoon!
"Lucky enough to see this classic show with special guest Jinkx Monsoon. You could tell the cast knew each other well and the presentation was seemless. Bravo!"

Great singing, fairly uninspired dancing
"Overall, a good show. The stage limitations seem to limit the full impact of this great story. The singers are terrific, and they seem like great dancers, but because the amount of stage available with the orchestra taking up 75%, the dance numbers seem to have been stultified. Also, everything felt rushed, without a lot of character insight."

It’s a good show
"We really enjoyed the show and the singing was amazing. I wouldn’t choose it over another show if it came down to a toss up - but it is a staple worth seeing at least once. "

Great! But different...
"As a Disney Musical Lover you will definitely miss changing costumes & stage design. But as a lover of fantastic singing and dancing quality you will love it. So we were absolutely overwhelmed by the singing/dancing quality.. But the stage design and costumes were too "boring" for our taste. "

Mmmm don’t cast famous people lol
"Everything about the show was great, we loved Velma, mama,Amos, all the dancers but it is sad to spent money travel into the city and see a lead character who doesn’t know how to dance or sing. Roxie did okay with her acting but she’s just a pretty face. I was hoping to see someone who truly embodied the character and had the pre-requisites needed to be on stage. Compared to Velma, Roxie didn’t make the cut. "

Honesty
"I had seen the show years and years ago. But returned with my wife to see it. Singing and dancing superb. Roxy and Thelma were amazing. But Roxy’s husband is a show stealer - he is an absolute treasure. The “current events” jokes fell flat audience wide and not into the cast trying to interact with the crowd. Want to see the talent on stage and follow the story. The conductor of the orchestra having an “active role” was not impressive. "

Great music, a little underwhelming
"Chicago, starring Alyssa Milano as Roxie, was a fun experience! I think the problem I had with it was just that I have watched the movie so much because it’s one of my favorites, so I constantly compared the actors onstage with the movie, which made it a bit underwhelming. Alyssa was best when she got to show her funny side, and the other actors and dancers were absolutely flawless in their performances. If I had seen this before seeing the movie, I probably would have rated it higher, so if you haven’t seen the movie, go for it and watch this fun show!"

Great show but awful seating
"The singing and dancing were superb. Even though we were upstairs in “ the Gods* the acoustics were good. However we left at the intermission as the seats were SO UNCOMFORTABLE. The seats were hard and there was no leg room. My partner and I, who are both quite tall, both got leg cramps and could not bear to sit any longer than the first half. These older theatres need a refurbishment for 21st Century bodies!
Also found it distracting when latecomers arrived and were allowed in as they distracted my view and enjoyment until they got seated."

Disappointed in lack of scenery
"Loved the music & dancing but was disappointed there was no scenery.
Maybe it was to cut costs, but still disappointing the orchestra was on the stage, instead of stage sets. "

Chicago - Read the reviews first.
"I thought that the story line was great. The cast did a phenomenal job. My issue was with the theater. It was small and cramped, the seats were uncomfortable. My view was obstructed being so close to the stage and on the end of the row. My bias could also stem from the fact that I just saw The Lion King last month, also. "

Why is stage
"The dancing is top notch. The singing is pretty good (the lead is stunt casting, but it works in this situation). The absolutely confounding thing is why does the bandstand consume approximately 80% of the available stage? Why have such a dance heavy show and then eliminate most of the available area for opportunity? Was there a bet somewhere that it couldn't be done?
There are much better versions of this musical on tour pretty much anywhere else."

Supporting cast was amazing
"For such an iconic role, Roxie was just okay. Her vocals were weak and she seemed unprepared, which was disappointing for such a central character. However, “Mama” was played by an understudy who was absolutely fantastic—commanding, powerful, and full of charisma. The rest of the cast was incredible and truly lived up to the high standard that Chicago is known for."
