Chicago on Broadway delivers an outstanding theatrical experience anchored by exceptional performances across all elements of production. The cast consistently receives praise for their remarkable talent, confidence, and charisma, with standout performances and the ensemble's brilliant execution of Fosse's iconic choreography. The show's greatest strengths are its spectacular dancing and choreography, sensational singing, and phenomenal orchestra performance, with reviewers particularly impressed by the dancers' precision, stamina, and athleticism, as well as the live band's engaging interaction with performers. The production also excels in its vibrant costumes, clear diction, and energetic pacing that maintains audience engagement throughout. Minor criticisms include the story feeling somewhat dated after 30 years of the show's run and occasional concerns about theater seating comfort, though these issues do not significantly detract from the overall experience. The show comes highly recommended as a must-see Broadway production that successfully transforms familiar material into a fresh, captivating live experience, making it an excellent choice for both first-time Broadway attendees and returning theater enthusiasts.

Great show
"Chicago on Broadway in New York is an electrifying and thoroughly enjoyable show that showcases incredible talent at every level. The performers are sharp, confident, and captivating, bringing the story to life with powerful vocals, precise choreography, and strong stage presence. The production captures the same bold, jazzy energy as the movie, staying true to its iconic style while making full use of the live stage. Fans of the film will recognize the memorable characters and dramatic flair, but seeing it performed live adds an exciting intensity that makes the experience even more engaging. Overall, Chicago is a stylish, entertaining show that proves why it remains a Broadway classic."

What a treat
"Beautifully choreographed, stellar cast. Acting, dancing and singing were all fantastic. However, there were a few moments that I found dated and sexist, such as pinching a female's breasts and simultaneously squeezing a horn. Not necessary and it really turned me off. The sexism of the time is one thing, but this seemed excessive. There were only a few such incidents and they didn't really detract from the whole experience."

My first time watching a Broadway show and I would love to see it again!
"When I knew I was going to visit New York, I knew I needed to watch at least one musical while I was there. I didn't want to see a story I had already seen in a film, so that it would be entirely new to me and I could enjoy it to the fullest.
What I didn't know was that 'Chicago' would affect me so deeply. Each character is entirely different yet full of depth. Seeing the actress playing Velma perform was incredible; I couldn't fathom how such a young woman could be so mature on stage and deliver such an impeccable performance. I followed half of the cast on social media afterwards because I was genuinely impressed.
If, like me, you want to experience the full Broadway experience, Chicago is a good place to start."

"A classic for good reason. Wow. I know it’s not new, but it was so refreshing to experience a story that doesn’t feel like it’s been ripped off a thousand times. Never seen anything quite like it, yet it is immediately clear what a huge impact it’s had on pop culture. References I finally understand. Killer performances all around. "
