A brilliant thing
"A one-woman show about depression, hope, and all the brilliant things that keep us here. So much courage to hold that stage alone. > As a psychologist, I was especially moved by how Tracee opened up such a sensitive conversation. So many people, especially in communities of color, still feel therapy means "I'm not crazy." This show reminds us how invisible depression can be, even to the people closest to us. > Thank you, Tracee, for bringing so much heart to such an important story. Be well. 💛 Karen Cochrane, "

Well done!
"This has been one of the best experiences I’ve had in NYC. Tracee did a phenomenal job keeping the audience engaged. Her delivery and charm were out of this world. The subject matter was heavy, dealing with depression and all. But, the story was told in a tasteful way, with some comedic relief to keep you from crying. I wasnt expecting to laugh so much. Well done!"

Life changing experience
"Every brilliant thing is a true work of art. It capture the essence of existence - the lightness and heaviness and everything I between. Tracee is a powerhouse she brings so much wonder to the play. (her singing was a highlight for me) I felt empowered by the messages - and at the same time I felt small but in a humbling way that prompt me to slow down and check in on my self and others. "

Life affirming talent
"Tracee was a masterclass actor in this emotional, life affirming one person show. Without giving much away but as a suggestion I had some trouble hearing voices from the audience side so perhaps some visual projection of words could be helpful. "

It's the List for me!!!
"I love the acting and audience interaction. It all blended perfectly! Minor recommendation on perfecting audience microphones as very few were not quite audible where actor's skills politely repeated the audience participant's message."

Every Brilliant Thing Is A Brilliant Thing!
"Tracee Ellis Ross was mesmerizing, she had me intrigued every step of the show. The audience participation was interesting to observe. I’d like to see Every Brilliant Thing again to see how it differs depending upon the unique audience involvement. The only thing I didn’t like was if someone was off mike I couldn’t hear their comments. This could be a me problem as I am 67 & perhaps my hearing is diminishing. "

Engaging till the end
"What a surprising treat the show turned out to be. I didn’t know much about it beforehand but love Tracie and couldn’t wait to see her on Broadway. The subject matter, the delivery, audience participation…all top tier. I connected with the story and found myself laughing, crying, and reminiscing. I hate that it’s ending so soon because I absolutely would recommend this to my friends, and probably would see it again. Bravo!"

Tracy breathed life into this character!
"From the moment the play began, it felt like we were sitting in my living room and she was sharing this story with a close group of friends. It felt so real that I couldn't discern if this was a tale or bits of her life."

Tracee was Tracee
"Only that some verbal audience participation could not be heard clearly and if due to poor microphones or lack of anunciation, seemed an easy fix. Purposefully didnt read anything or discuss anything about the play. Went for Tracee!!! Went with my grown daughter (who Did devour all info, by the way). We both were happy with our decision. Both cried and laughed, albeit at different things. Just . MARVELOUS from every aspect."

Brilliant
"Traces Ellis Ross did an amazing job in this 1 person show, that used audience members as part of it. Dealing with topics of depression, death, and suicide she was emotional, funny, witty, and engaging. Would highly recommend that you see this show. One thing I wished was better was some of the audience members were hard to hear/understand when their # was called. Overall though- Brilliant! "

★★★★★ A Must-See Broadway Experience
"Every Brilliant Thing is one of the most heartfelt and unforgettable shows I’ve ever seen. It’s funny, deeply moving, and beautifully written, striking the perfect balance between laughter and emotion. Tracee Ellis Ross’s storytelling draws you in from the very beginning, and the audience participation makes every performance feel personal and unique. The performance is authentic, vulnerable, and incredibly engaging. It tackles difficult topics like mental health and grief with honesty, warmth, and hope, leaving you with a renewed appreciation for life’s simple joys. I laughed, I cried, and I walked away feeling genuinely inspired. Whether you’re a longtime theater lover or seeing your first Broadway show, Every Brilliant Thing is an experience that will stay with you long after the curtain falls. Brilliantly Excellent!
"I enjoyed everything about the show. Tracee Ellis Ross is one of my favorite actresses. The storyline resonates with modern day challenges, hopes and dreams. To appreciate every thing that exists in ordinary things, is a powerful reminder that when life feels overwhelming, we can shift our focus to small, existing "glimmers" that can completely change how we experience the world."
