Beyond amazing music .. lack story
"The cast was so phenomenally talented that you could overlook the boring and lackluster story. Spent so much time with the main character fighting with her mom to form any true emotional connection to any characters. Every song gave you chills but the story didn’t show the point of the young girl who was wasting her potential talent. "

Great show… sound vibrations all around!
"The sound was turned up way to high… I think the music and acting was wonderful. The music could have been better if it was lower just a bit. "

Musical
"I took my daughter and a couple of her friends to see Hell's Kitchen since it was rated appropriate for 8 years and up. The music was superb and we were all enjoying it until the profanity reoccured several times. We decided to leave the show at the intermission. This is the first Broadway musical where I heard so much cursing, I was a bit taken aback so I felt it was better to leave. The music of Alicia Keys was beautiful. I was saddened that the cursing had to be included to take away from Alicia's music."

Too much singing not enough acting
"Very loud. Some great singers but over done with too much music."

It was okay but could have been better.
"The singing was fine, but the dance choreography was so out of sync that it was distracting, with bad group timing and lacking coordination and any recognizable structure. It looked like individual physical improvisations, with lots of sporadic arm waving, which was not visually stimulating and detracted from the overall experience of the play. "

My daughter (30) thought it was very good.
"Typically street story. The songs/singing, and dancers were very good. The play itself was missing something"

Ok for a night out
"I’m a Native New Yorker, a former performer and a huge Broadway fan. I LOVE Alicia Keyes but unfortunately I didn’t love this show. The music is great and there are some standout performances from the “mother”, “father “ and “music teacher “ but the storyline, script and choreography are basic and at times, a bit corny. The show doesn’t flow very well. It wasn’t until after intermission that I was truly captivated and moved by the performances. I enjoyed the show overall but it didn’t leave me wanting to see it again as I do with most shows. I hope they will tweak the beginning and work on the acting, so it will be around for a while. "

Good but not great
"I thought two characters in the show were particularly standout - the mom and the piano teacher. I also thought some of the supporting charters and the dancing was fabulous. However, I thought the main character was overacting and the storyline in general was uninspiring and even boring."

Excellent except for replacement of main character.
"The music and acting were superb. The replacement for the main character has a beautiful voice, but didn’t enunciate her words. You could clearly understand everyone else’s vocals, except for the main character. VERY disappointing‼️ Every other actor’s singing was easy to hear and understand. I was sitting in the fifth row so I should have been able to hear EVERY WORD clearly. "

Incredible Experience and Great show
"We thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was an experience from the beginning to the end. The vocals and the dancing were our favorites. Would definitely see it again. I wish the show were a bit longer as we found ourselves wanting more. "

Little confused as most people said at the show over all it was a nice show
"It wasn't really her life, and when I looked up for bio, it was completely different. Then what the play was about? It was more of a little relationship between a mom, but nothing really made sense. They spent too much time with some guy who was a painter and then trying to actually show how she made it. As a singer, so if you did not know who she was, I suppose, people do, it's just yeah, people singing for songs and dancing around"

Not worth the money
"Didn’t care for the story line. Great dancing. For teenagers for sure. Great music. I should have bought a cheaper seat instead of a front row seat"

Not happy
"We had a hard time understanding the lyrics to many of the songs and some of the dialog. We also felt that some of the dance routines did not flow. The music was nice. I guess the show just was not for us."

Not sure what I was expecting...
"I had heard rave reviews of this show, and I love Alicia Keys' music. But the story didn't flow well and the writing was very sophomoric/formulaic. It felt like the Broadway equivalent of a Madea movie. I did love the music and dancing! "

Don’t believe the hype
"I liked five of the song versions. I didn’t find the flow of the music and storyline line. I loved the voice of the bubbly friend of A. Keys she was extremely talented. I didn’t like the negative reflection of the father even if it’s true. The first half was better than the second half and it was too long. "

Great music less than adequate dancing
"We enjoyed the music , staging and singing. Dancing was average at best and too much gratuitous of vulgar language. Broadway shows should be better than this."
