You’ll laugh ‘til it hurts.
"Forget about “Who dunnit?” You’ll be wondering what’s going to go wrong next. The cast does a fantastic job of trying to keep the play going, but they’re thwarted constantly by a set that won’t behave. The actors are accomplished. The set, well, not so much."

Funny Show!!
"I loved that the actors and actresses were already interacting with the audience before the show started. I actually thought one of the actors' dogs had gotten loose... and that they were trying to find it. Later, I realized it was part of the show. I was really impressed by the special effects in the set design. They made me laugh uncontrollably. My whole family enjoyed the show."

Fun, fast moving play of silliness
"Such a fun first time experience for my teens. The play is full of physical comedy, and sillyness Much of it predicable, yes..but fun none the less."

Not what we expected. It was so much better!
"How to describe this show without giving anything aways? Hmmm. It was witty. The actors were phenomenal. Their stage presence, ability to carry a scene with just a look in their eyes, their physical commitment to the show. It all just worked so smoothly. If you are looking for a fun night out with lots of laughs, then this show is a must-see. "

Lots of fun
"We loved it. It was better than we thought it would be and rather clever. Just know that there's an element of silliness to it. It's slapstick humour, certainly not highbrow, but we laughed out loud throughout the show and I would recommend it."

Wholeheartedly recommend!
"I had no idea what show to see with my teenage son while visiting NYC. He definitely did not want to see a musical. I stumbled across this show and thought “why not?” We all loved it! Very funny - clever idea! The actors were perfect in their roles. The intimate atmosphere truly felt like we were watching a “performance” of a play. The entire audience seemed to feel like we did, given the constant chuckles, giggles, and outright laughter across the theater. 10 out of 10"

Still funniest broadway comedy
"Saw this years ago, enjoyed it then, enjoyed it now. Cast was great, drew the audience in. Timing of lines, asides, pantomime and movements were perfection. Only thing I didn’t like was the theater. I am 76 and need hand hold for stairs. There are no railings, handholds or other at New World Stages. Had to wait to be last out, even then tripped once, but didn’t fall. "

About The Play That Goes Wrong

Welcome to opening night of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a Broadway show—a ramshackle set, a leading lady with a concussion, and a corpse that can’t play dead. It’s a classic murder mystery… and it’s a mystery how it ever got to Broadway!
