"OK, I am not a fan of slapstick and if someone had described this play to me I probably would not have gone. But, I did go, and I thoroughly enjoyed just relaxing and laughing, and then laughing some more. The routines were predictable but clever and the acting was actually quite good."

Wanna laugh?? See it!!
"Each of the actors were one better than the next. They had so much expression in their faces alone. An amazing amount of physical comedy! Had me holding my breath between laughs. Great fun! "

An unhinged comedic thrill ride.
"The Play that Goes Wrong is a hilarious romp through a presentation of "Murder as Havisham Manor." Excellent acting and great line delivery had me laughing out loud so often, I'm sure I missed more than a few other funny moments. A memorable experience of mounting chaos that delivers tons of laugh out loud moments. Anyone who has ever wanted to laugh should catch this play."

Funny show
"The show was funny and engaging, but didn’t love that the same things that went wrong got used over and over again. "

Fun and light hearted
"The stage designer really did an amazing job on the set. Some of the effects were quite stunning and smoothly done. I was in attendance with my adult son and we both agreed that it was fun and often very funny, but it is definitely slapstick humor and some of the gags got tiresome for us. I think kids would LOVE this play. If you're a diehard Broadway fan and want to see every show, then this is a nice addition to your list, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is new to Broadway and looking for a more traditional show such as Wicked, Book of Mormon, etc."

This show is for kids only
"The jokes in this play are really only funny for kids below age 12. I cannot recommend this play at all for adults. The price is not justified for this show. "

Slapstick wears thin
"While the actors work hard and are excellent, the slapstick humor was just too much for us. There were several funny moments but the play deteriorates toward the end as the same gags are featured over and over again. "

Dumb and very drawn out
"We didn’t enjoy the show and didn’t feel it was worth the money. There were a few funny moments, mostly at the beginning, but it goes on for way too long and is just dumb comedy. Lots of slapstick but also lots of jokes that just didn’t really land. It seemed about half the audience liked it and the other half did not. I wouldn’t recommend and was disappointed to have “wasted” a night on this play instead of going to another Broadway musical. "

About
The Play That Goes Wrong
Welcome to opening night of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a Broadway show—a ramshackle set, a leading lady with a concussion, and a corpse that can’t play dead. It’s a classic murder mystery… and it’s a mystery how it ever got to Broadway!
