"I absolutely loved everything about Proof.
The theater itself is small, cozy, and intimate — the kind of space where you feel almost inside the story, not just watching it from the audience.
The play is beautifully constructed: the opening, the development of the plot, the flashbacks, the emotional tension, and the gradual unfolding of the family dynamics. It touches on so many deep layers — love between family members, trust and distrust, affection and caution, closeness and distance.
What I especially loved is how restrained the relationships are. There are no endless “I love you” speeches, yet you feel the depth of everyone’s emotions. The love is there — complicated, quiet, sometimes painful, but very real.
The acting is powerful and emotionally charged. Every actor brings something honest and alive to the stage. But the main actress is truly extraordinary. She does not simply play the role — she lives it. Every moment feels real, raw, and deeply human.
A beautifully written, beautifully acted drama. I highly recommend seeing this play"

Pleasantly powerful.
"I saw the play on Sunday July 5th. It was freezing in the theatre. That’s the only negative thing I can think of. The entire cast was great. Everyone clearly gave it their all and they supported each other. Don Cheadle and Adrienne Warren were not there. At first I was disappointed because I’m a big fan of Mr. Cheadle’s work, but it turns out he wasn’t critical to the performance. Thomas Silcott was much more than adequate, as was Shayvawn Webster. Ayo Edebiri was simply outstanding. Her comedic moments felt true to her character and provided more depth. I did not expect such a powerful emotional ending. Bravo to the entire cast. 👏"

Very worth the trip!
"I was so moved! This show tackles big themes - mental health, grief, misogyny, family dynamics, and women’s contribution to science and family. It has a heartbeat that really struck me. And topically it was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend seeing it while you can!"

Before it's too late
"Get your ticket NOW to the revival of Proof at the Booth Theatre. There's just a couple weeks left. We saw the Sunday, June 28th 3:00 matinee performance and it was outstanding. Ayo Edebiri brings her best work to the role of Catherine. Kudos to the whole excellent cast, Don Cheadle, Jin Ha, and Kara Young (sadly, her final performance in this run, but Adrienne Warren joins the cast this week). HIGHLY recommended!"

Proof
"Proof was an insightful look at loss, grief, depression, healing, joy, and the power of purpose. The simple production (shout out to the lighting designers!) brought the emotions and the thoughts to the forefront. The finishing touch waas its ability to find humor in even the saddest experiences. I would whole-heartedly recommend Proof to everyone!"

Pushed Al the bright buttons!
"I loved the play. It was cute, funny, touching and thought provoking. It touches on many of the issues real families are facing these days: caring for aging parents, sibling relationships, dementia, self confidence, mental health and family dynamics. Also love the way it really subtly disrupts stereo types. Love the play and definitely recommend."

"It was an intense journey into the lives of a genius family. Ayo Edebiri did a fantastic portrayal of the tortured child who carried her father’s legacy. Also had its funny moments. I also enjoyed watching Jin Ha & Kara Young as the somewhat inconsistent support network. "

The Power of Profundity
"It is said that the power of profundity is present when simplicity and depth meet brevity. PROOF has it! This was the absolute best non-musical show I’ve seen in a long time, maybe ever. The acting, chemistry, lighting, staging and writing were superb! The seamless transportation back and forth through time is proof of superior writing and direction. Not to mention Ayo and Cheadle being next level! JUST AMAZING! "

Great cast‼️
"Ayo Edebiri is fabulous as the anxious daughter! She pours it out in this production. Although Don Cheadle’s part is small, the cast is great and believable. Kara Young and Steven Ha are standouts, as well. I had tears in my eyes, praying Catherine (Ayo) would find peace after all. I highly recommend this show."
