Great rendition of a great show
"I'd seen Ragtime once before by a touring company and the version currently at Lincoln Center was much better. The opening number is spectacular and the potrayals of Mother and Younger Brother in particular I thought were outstanding. Great production using minimalist sets."

PHENOMENAL!!!
"I haven’t heard that powerful, “tear the roof off the place” show-stopping voices since Jennifer Holiday in Dreamgirls 40-something years ago. Joshua Henry, Cassie Levy and the woman who closed out the first act, should all clear a mantel for their well deserved Tony Awards. Highly, Highly recommend everyone should see and hear these voices while the opportunity is still available. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!!"

One of my most favorite performances!
"I absolutely loved everything about it! The music was mesmerizing and the performers were so talented. One of the best performances I’ve ever seen! I’m from out of town and as soon as I got home I told my husband we need to plan another weekend to New York soon so he can see it (and I get to see it again)!"

A Masterpiece that Perfectly Meets the Moment
"I have been to dozens of Broadway performances but have never had an experience quite like this. The story, the intimacy of the theater, the incredible vocals of Joshua Henry and the entire cast - it all made for an experience that I will remember forever. This musical meets our current moment with truth and hope, and everyone who sees it will leave changed for the better."

A Must See That Is So Relevant Today.
"Privileged to view this play twice in two weeks, as I brought visiting Scottish friends back with me the second time. And it proves why live theater is different everytime and and conveys different levels of energy and emotion each time. This is a breathtaking production with every aspect, from brilliant actors to costuming, scenery, music, thoughtfully curated and lovingly performed. Both friends were crying by the end of the show and my male friend quipped that Paul Robeson has always been a favorite of his but thinks Joshua Henry exceeds Mr. Robeson voice. What a compliment and this play’s brilliance of ensemble performance in a nutshell. Go see it before it goes away!"

Timely even though the setting is early 20th century.
"I expected talented singers and they were even better. The story line was much more than I was expecting. It was gripping and as timely now as it was 100 years ago. "

a must see
"The performance was epic. This was my second viewing. My only criticism is from my seats, both times, i had difficulting hearing some of the words in songs. Mostly in Act I, and especially with solos. I was in loge both times. "

Loved it!
"Overall, a great show, from the cast to the scenes to the story. There is definitely a few stand-outs. The star of the show without a doubt is the actor who played Coalfield Walker. His counter-part, Sarah, had some amazing spots, too. The actress who played "mother" had a number of solos and she carried them all quite well. The surprises were the actor who played her brother and the actor who play the Jewish immigrant. Several members of the ensemble played different roles and played them very well, very believably. If you're thinking about going, do it. You will not be disappointed."

About Ragtime

Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold onto it.

Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a stirring book by Terrence McNally, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, Ragtime weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.
