"I loved the story, the actors, the passion, the songs and the set design. I thoroughly enjoy seeing plays @ the Vivian Beaumont Theater, the seating & stage provide an intimate experience. I did not experience any negativity or anything I’d want changed. In fact, after being moved to tears several times during the play, I wanted to see it again. Bravo-Brava to everyone involved in this poignantly moving production. "

Do not miss this show!
"This show is one of the best I have seen on Broadway and I’ve seen them all. The cast is unbelievable. The lead Joshua Henry has a voice like no other. The music is incredible. The storyline will uplift you, make you think but will also make you shed a tear.
I saw it with Brian Stokes Mitchell over 20 years ago, and we all know how great he is, but Joshua Henry takes it to another level.
It deserved every Tony Award it received. "

Amazed at Ragtime
"Ragtime was phenomenal, some of the best of Broadway! The cast, and orchestra were outstanding! I saw the original almost 3 decades ago and loved it then, but this blew me away! The score is a difficult one, and the cast surpassed all my expectations! I appreciate the new artistic choices with blocking, minimal set, and choreography. The costumes were fabulous as well! Every seat is a great one in this theatre. You are close to the action and feel like a part of the story due to the proximity and emotional performances of the actors! I wish everyone could see this show because it gives you a lot to think about. "

Magnificent from Beginning to End
"This is the second time we've been privileged to see Ragtime at Lincoln Center. It was more amazing, if you can believe that, than the first time. You could see that the actors continued to grow in their roles and the vocals, we felt, reached new levels. Sometimes one would think that the winning of Tony's and securing new 'jobs' once this run is over would allow performers to back off of the effort that they gave to earn them those Tony's. However, in this case, they grew and left us with an experience we will never forget."

"The story line is one that travels from past to future. The haves and have nots, black and immigrants. There is love, struggle and great sadness. And then there are the most powerful voices that bring the house down! Stellar cast!"

"Everybody was fantastic. I think Joshua Henry might literally be an angel or something though because how is one person allowed to be that talented. At one point he hummed and I thought “that’s the most beautiful humming I’ve ever heard”"

Perfection
"I loved the setup of the stage. We were pretty close in the orchestra and I felt like I could just reach out and touch the actors. Like I was fully a part of the show. The show itself was flawless. The sound was impeccable. I had to wait in line the whole intermission for the bathroom. Didn’t have time to get something to drink which I was a little annoyed with. "

Ragtime was an amazing production!
"The voices and musical ability of the actors were some of the best that I have heard in a Broadway musical. The story was moving and the actors magnified the emotion of the story through their portrayals of the characters beautifully. Ragtime may be too disturbing for children 12 and under, but I highly recommend it for adults of all ages. "

About
Ragtime
Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold onto it.
Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a stirring book by Terrence McNally, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, Ragtime weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.
