Spectacular
"Powerful. The baseball section felt off compared to the rest of the show. I
was waiting for a big number at the end and for me it didn’t happen but overall great. More than what I expected. "

Loved this show before and love even more now!
"Ragtime is a mature show with strong themes and the company did a phenomenal job with this show. I wouldn’t recommend this show for anyone under 13 because of the content. However, throughout the production the ensemble was consistently engaged with really giving their all. The leads were also phenomenal. Grandfather was hilarious! Tateh was absolutely amazing and I loved seeing him on stage. Father’s scream at the end was bone chilling in the best way!! Even the kids in the production did such an amazing job! Ragtime will always be a must see show for me!"

Relevant, Rousing Revival
"I was lucky enough to see Ragtime when it opened in 1998. Loved it then. Perfectly cast. This Lincoln Center revival has power and voices and terrific staging. And the story is so relevant to our current political and social era. Moved me to tears. "

If you don't go, you will regret it.
"The cast and performance is so strong it's absurd. I, a calloused gay man in my 50s, was nearly brought to tears twice. The staging was minimal but incredibly effective.
Joshua Henry - absolute powerhouse. Cassie Levy - absolute powerhouse. Brandon Uranowitz - absolute powerhouse. There is not a weak link in the cast. The opening scene - with everybody rising out of the floor, gives me chills just thinking about it.
One note: the duets between Joshua Henry & Nichelle Lewis were not always balanced. Joshua's voice is big and easily covered Nichelle's part. That said, the performance of those scenes was remarkable.
I'm very glad I went, and there's a reason it's the hottest ticket in town."

Stunning cast in barebones revival
"This production really lets the actors tell the story. Amazing voices let the score shine and few sets let you focus on the humanity of each character. The costumes are excellent, but the tears come from the power and emotion of the cast."

Inspiring experience! Wonderful revival
"Loved everything about this experience. When there is a standing ovation in the middle of Act 1, you know you are in for an amazing evening. Cast was so good and even the fairly sparse staging created some memorable scenes. It felt like the audience really needed this right now. Inspiring indeed!"

The most powerful performance I have seen in memory
"This had to be my favorite performance of the year. The singing and acting was incredible and the production was amazing. It is a must see, and I am telling everyone I know to see it before all of NYC knows especially since it has become so much more relevant today than what the last time I saw it over 20 years ago."

Josh Henry's voice sends chills
"Having seen Ragtime at regional theatres previously, I was familiar with the story line and score. That did not stop me from becoming emotional as the trials of living in NY in 1906 unfolded through the tremendous acting and beautiful singing of this fabulous cast! The supporting players were just as engaging as the leading players, making this show very powerful. Must see!!!!!!"

Brilliant, Timely and Relevant!
"“Ragtime” has always been a personal favorite since the original production. This current revival exceeded all my expectations and gave me a deeper appreciation for its score and characters.
You become a witness to the personal battles of its main characters regarding justice, the challenge of immigrants striving for freedom and opportunity in America and the journey of a woman finding the courage to make decisions on her own.
The score is filled with power, beauty, humor and pathos. Joshua Henry as Coalhouse Walker has never been better. Caissie Levy brings heart and a gentle defiance to her role as Mother. Brandon Uranowitz delivers heartfelt passion as Tateh. The entire ensemble is outstanding!
I was reminded of the freedoms I have cherished in America and the urgency to stand up for those freedoms today.
I was on my feet and moved to tears throughout this performance! I highly recommend “Ragtime.” It must be seen and heard!

About
Ragtime
Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold onto it.
Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a stirring book by Terrence McNally, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, Ragtime weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.
