Perfection!
"This production gets it all right: vocals, storytelling, pit, costumes, set, lighting, sound, acting, heart…it’s got it all. Musical theater at its best, telling the sometimes joyful, often tragic story of America. Don’t miss this production!"

Absolutely astondingly GREAT!
"The singing was exceptional. The acting, dancing and staging were the highest quality. But is the story is the star, as emotional, heart wrenching and as pointed today as it was when first told."

Don’t miss it!
"Outstanding performance. Flew to New York to see it and I wasn’t disappointed. Beautiful music and story that applies as much to current times as to the past it was set in. OK for middle school age and above."

A MUST!
"I have never seen the show or movie & im not a fan of revivals! It is one of the best productions I’ve seen & so appropriate right now in our world! THE CAST? Well, truly, I GOT GOOSE BUMPS & stood after so many solos I was exhausted by the end! Each & everyone of the cast is a pro & has a voice of an angel! So, yes, I recommend!"

Best show I’ve ever seen
"This is a fabulous production with an extremely talented cast. The message in the show is so timely but sad because it takes place in 1906 and we’re still fighting the same prejudices. However the music and voices are amazing. "

Utterly breathtaking!
"What a perfect depiction of a very unspeakably cruel time in history with songs that will equally break your heart and stir your soul. The cast and production were perfection. Several standing ovations long before the curtain call!"

Brilliant, and truly American!
"We went to the show for Joshua Henry, and he delivered (three standing ovations during the show!), but so did everyone else in the cast. This is a show about the past, but also one for our times... presented by a brilliant cast and led by the voice of a generation. Also the venue is exceptional, as was the costuming, the staging, the orchestra! We are still singing three days later! (Please tell me they are making a soundtrack recording.)"

Incredible talent!
"Every actor had incredible talent! The story telling was incredible and shined a light on the issues of the early 1900s. The lead actor's voice was so powerful it gave you chills. At times you were filled with emotions and other times you cheered! Because the theatre is 3/4 round and the stage revolves, Any seat in the house is perfect! "

Bravura Performances
"Lincoln Center Theatre's "Ragtime," is spectacular. At Tony Award time, it should be in contention for several awards, particularly for the superb performances by Joshua Henry, Brandon Uranowitz, Nichelle Lewis and Ben Levi-Ross, choreography by Ellenore Scott and direction by Lear DeBessonet. The production aspects of the show - scenic design, costume design, lighting design, sound design - are superb, creating a perfect tableau for the era in which the show take place. It is a must see, a theatrical masterpiece."

About Ragtime

Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold onto it.

Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a stirring book by Terrence McNally, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, Ragtime weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.
