So pertinent given today’s vibe
"We liked our seats, front row loge, such a fun perspective. The actors were perfectly cast. Their singing voices were superior. The story was well told, emotional, relatable & even funny. We have all the songs stuck in our heads! Absolutely loved it. "

Breathtakingly gorgeous and tragic and wonderful altogether.
"There was nothing to not like. There was a several minutes long standing ovation (not manipulated) in Act One. It was at least on par with the original production and at most one of the best shows I’ve ever seen live. "

I am unwell
"I went into this show almost completely blind. I knew one or two plot points, but only ones from the first act. This show ripped my heart out and made me cry and I loved every moment of it. This show is a must see. The cast is talented beyond anything ever before or since."

One of the best shows I have ever seen
"I loved everything. The cast was superb, wonderful costumes, creative sets, beautiful music and lyrics. Would not recommend for children under 12. A message that is so relevant for today. Cannot stop thinking about the overwhelming beauty of the production."

One of the best shows I've seen
"I'm a regular theater-goer, and Ragtime is officially one of the best shows I've seen. The pure talent of the cast, the ingenuity of the directors and designers, the obvious time and thought that went into every detail.... it was all incredible. Ragtime happens to be a favorite show of mine, but this Broadway revival was beyond expectations and deserves all the flowers. Upon leaving the theater, I immediately bought tickets to go again with friends. "

Great music and cast
"Very powerful singing and wonderful music. I loved it! Story lines surrounding racial strife, immigrant struggles and privileged class might be missed by younger audience members. It was 3 hours of enjoyment for me & my wife. I would see it again!"

It’s Ragtime’s Time
"We loved everything about it, especially how timely the story is in an era of social and political division. The music, vocals and acting transcended theater. Also, we enjoyed the Lincoln Center venue. "

Just amazing! Really poignant at this time in history!
"The cast was absolutely amazing and top notch performers. The leads were tops on Broadway and truly breathtaking. It’s a very emotional story and quite on target in today’s political climate. A must see!!"

Brilliant and Timely
"A huge orchestra playing beautiful music. Lyrics that border on poetry. Giant cast, wonderful theatre. It’s just sad that, given the show takes place over a hundred years ago, it shows how far we HAVEN’T come as a society. Hint #1: the center loge seating of the Vivian Beaumont Theatre is both the best and cheaper seats in the house. Hint #2: bring plenty of tissues. "

Beautiful, topical musical.
"I absolutely loved this musical. It was beautiful, moving, and sadly felt very contemporary. Have already recommended to friends and family. Joshua Henry is an absolute star! But the entire cast was fantastic. I was blown away. "

History repeats itself...
"The show exceeded all of my expectations. Actors were superb, as were the set and costumes. An extremely talented cast who brought home the fact that times have not changed much, even though that may not have been the intent. It was truly moving."

Hurry up and see it while you can
"Absolutely incredible performances. Be prepared to cry. Although the story is set in the early 1900's, its themes are eerily relevant today. Truly impactful and phenomenal. "

Incredible story and talent
"I bought my family (ages 10, 14, 18, and 2 adults) to see this show for my daughter's birthday. It was incredible! While we missed seeing Joshua Henry (he was fantastic at City Center when I saw him last year), we very much enjoyed his understudy's performance by John Clay III. I look forward to seeing more from him! The entire cast was excellent, and I cried several times. The themes and beauty of the music were outstanding. In my 10 year old son's words: "It was a sad play, but also a beautiful play." We all enjoyed it and learned as well. "

Amazing talent and beautiful production !
"The show was beautiful to watch with fantastic voices and performances. The staging , pacing and lighting were also great . Interesting story and message, particularly in our country today . We did feel the show was a bit longer than necessary ( especially first act ) with perhaps a bit tooooo many production numbers. But non the less , the show was moving and top notch ! "

Excellent show!
"The theatre was great with superb sight lines and good sized seating that is not overly crowded. The show was well staged and there was an obvious high production value throughout the sets, costumes, acting, and singing. This was my first time to see a Broadway show at Lincoln Center, but certainly not the last!"

About Ragtime

Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold onto it.

Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a stirring book by Terrence McNally, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, Ragtime weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.
