Truly the best revivial
"I wanted to see this show because I'm a fan of Joshua Henry. Unfortunately, he was unavailable. I was disappointed that he wasn't there but that takes nothing away from this show. The music and performances were glorious. It was truly an ensemble and each, including the child actors, were perfection. As I was leaving, I heard other people raving about it. Everyone had a smile on their face. It was an experience."

Watch this show!
"I am not a person who typically likes to show their emotions out in public with other people around, but this show moved me to tears. Everything about this production was perfect and I think it is a needed show to be on at this time. Thank you to everyone involved with this performance and an amazing job. I am and will continue to talk this show up to anyone who asks and anyone who doesn’t. I would see it 1000 more times if my bank account allowed. "

Tony Award worthy? YES!
"What a wonderful ensemble! Each actor supported the performance of the others on set with them. The leads were stupendous! Even the way the orchestra supported the smooth transitions after one blockbuster song was amazing! It sooo deserved the Tony! "

A Masterful Revival!
"Before stepping into the Vivian Beaumont Theater we knew this show was good but we had no idea how exceptional and relatable to today it would be. The show explores themes of wealth, poverty, prejudice, and the American Dream from different social classes through its diverse score. We met others on their 2nd and 3rd time watching the show at this beautiful venue and I am so glad we visited."

Amazing and extremely relevant
"A beautifully executed piece of musical theater. Every actor had an amazing voice, and poured such emotion into the songs of this haunting score. The interwoven stories unfortunately are just as relevant and relatable today as they were 120 years ago. And the simple staging actually enhanced the emotional experience. An incredible night of theater!"

Utter perfection
"Ragtime was one of the most powerful pieces of theater I have ever experienced.
The music was breathtaking, the performances were extraordinary, and the storytelling left me completely speechless. Some moments made me smile, others made me angry, and others brought me to tears.
Joshua Henry's portrayal of Coalhouse Walker Jr. was unforgettable. One scene that shattered me was after Sarah's death, when Coalhouse sat beside the piano, and the memory of their first meeting appeared before him. Watching him reach for her as she faded away captured grief, love, and heartbreak in a way I will never forget.
I was also struck by the symbolism throughout the production. The moment when the clouds transformed into the American flag, only for it to disappear as Coalhouse's fight for justice reached its tragic conclusion, felt incredibly powerful.
This production reminded me that theater can do more than entertain—it can make us feel, reflect, and see the world differently.
A truly extraordinary experience. I am already planning to see it again."

Amazing Show
"Incredible cast and ensemble. Period costumes and dialect were spot on. Most powerful voices you will ever hear on stage. Runs nearly 3hrs with intermission so be prepared for a late evening if you got to the 8p. Some pretty heavy topics and themes so would use discretion for younger kids (sub-12) "

A Broadway Masterpiece That Still Feels Urgently Relevant
"Ragtime was truly one of the best Broadway shows I’ve ever seen. The way the characters’ storylines intertwine is brilliantly written, and the music is absolutely breathtaking. Every performance was outstanding, and every Tony nomination is more than deserved. What struck me most was how relevant the themes still feel today, which led to meaningful conversations afterward with my 13-year-old daughter. Powerful, emotional, beautifully performed, and unforgettable."

About
Ragtime
Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold onto it.
Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a stirring book by Terrence McNally, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, Ragtime weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.
