Incredible talent!
"Every actor had incredible talent! The story telling was incredible and shined a light on the issues of the early 1900s. The lead actor's voice was so powerful it gave you chills. At times you were filled with emotions and other times you cheered! Because the theatre is 3/4 round and the stage revolves, Any seat in the house is perfect! "

Bravura Performances
"Lincoln Center Theatre's "Ragtime," is spectacular. At Tony Award time, it should be in contention for several awards, particularly for the superb performances by Joshua Henry, Brandon Uranowitz, Nichelle Lewis and Ben Levi-Ross, choreography by Ellenore Scott and direction by Lear DeBessonet. The production aspects of the show - scenic design, costume design, lighting design, sound design - are superb, creating a perfect tableau for the era in which the show take place. It is a must see, a theatrical masterpiece."

A powerful tale about America
"Coalhouse Walker Jr. commanded the stage with his powerful voice, but Ragtime is a multifaceted story about intolerance and acceptance of immigrants and different cultures at the beginning of the century. The children playing together in the end is the American dream."

Act 1 not so good, act 2 was fabulous!
"The staging of this play was amazing. The actors were great and the singing was over the top. What you need to do is read about the story before you go to understand the story better!"

About
Ragtime
Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold onto it.
Featuring a lush score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a stirring book by Terrence McNally, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, Ragtime weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.
