"A huge orchestra playing beautiful music. Lyrics that border on poetry. Giant cast, wonderful theatre. "I bought my family (ages 10, 14, 18, and 2 adults) to see this show for my daughter's birthday. It was incredible! While we missed seeing Joshua Henry (he was fantastic at City Center when I saw him last year), we very much enjoyed his understudy's performance by John Clay III. I look forward to seeing more from him! The entire cast was excellent, and I cried several times. The themes and beauty of the music were outstanding. Ragtime
Ragtime is a sweeping musical adaption of E.L. Doctorow’s novel that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother.
