Be Careful What You Ask For
"The opening was a bit slow, but once it took off, it ran. Simple set, focus on the acting, as it should be. Performances were strong, words not for the faint of heart, story pulsing with tension, ending creating a gasp. Performers complemented each other and both held our interest throughout.
Go see it—it’s worth it!"

Amazing show
"Fabulous show with two outstanding stars-- one an established hit and the other and up and coming super nova (with a matching pedigree).
A beautifully told story that feels both fresh and inevitable. Highly recommend. I see 20-30 shows a year and this is one of the best I've seen."

A true theatre experience
"This show is incredible. Both actors are amazing and Emma Beatty really holds her own and commands the stage and respect when paired with Jackman. Not an easy feat for anyone I would think. The script makes you really think about me too and power dynamics and honesty. "

Excellent cast
"Love the small theater. Serious and funny exchange of dialogue between 2 characters, one who is seasoned and the other who is not. Suffice to say individuals had much to learn from each other. Liked this play very much. 85 minutes of being absorbed. "

Power differentials, complicity, and responsibility
"The play was completing engaging from the very first moment with superb acting and easy to follow dialogue. Ella Beatty was expressive and appropriately awkward even in her long moments of silence and Hugh Jackman charmed the audience into believing he was speaking to each of us directly. I appreciated Hannah Moskovitch's nuanced treatment of this sensitive subject, first through the lens of Jon and later giving voice to Annie's perspective as she matures. The ending is surprising and very satisfying. Ultimately, even if the student initiates and consents, responsibility rests with the professor. "

Up close
"The fact that the stars are so down to earth in combination with their talent I was in total awe the whole time. I was transported to the story and lived it thru their amazing talent. She is sort of new to acting and I simply saw a great actress. Hugh is simply just pure talent in his habitat, so so so natural and he makes it look super easy. Take advantage of this up close - intimate performance of two great actors. Thank you to the stars for allowing us to enjoy their talent. "

I went for Hugh and left with astonishment at Ella!
"After the show, throngs waited for Hugh, who was as gracious and attentive as you'd hope. Twenty minutes later, Hugh is gone, and Ella emerges; only eight of us are waiting for her. This will seem silly in less than five years. She went beyond holding her own with the force that Hugh is. TWO superb actors in a well-written, interesting play with more than one twist. See it while you can!"

Bracingly Real
"Engaging performances are only part of the reason this play is terrific…the writing is great & the story SO realistic. I felt like I was viewing people I know “act out,” giving in to their (certainly real, human) emotions while simultaneously observing themselves get into a highly sticky situation, one with potential for all kinds of bad consequences. And watching Jackman alternate between being a perpetrator & then observer who breaks the fourth wall was clever & riveting."
