First Time on Broadway, Completely Blown Away
"It was my first time seeing a show on Broadway. You hear so much about musicals here, but this was just amazing. Although the story is fun and interesting, I was in tears by the end of the show from how emotional I felt getting to experience this amazing musical. Did I already mention it was amazing? "

The best musical!
"The music, the cast, the humor all played an important part in this musical! Loved how the vampires crept down on stage. I was amazed at the voices of the cast, especially Star and the mom. I would recommend The Lost Boys!! "

"The staging, the lighting, the special effects, the actors, the music, the vocals...have I missed anything? What a show!
(Okay, one criticism. Decibel levels were often too high.)"

Wow Just Wow
"What a amazing show, high flying and captivating the audience, Act 1 had me reeled in from start to finish, the songs were amazing with such talented voices, the costumes and set design were incredible and excellent execution of stage, now the second act was still great but did seem to dim a little from the first, the ending felt to quick but all in all one hell of a show"

Delivers everything you're hoping for
"What a fun ride this show is! We saw it on the last day of previews before the official opening. I'd heard it dragged, but they really tightened it up and I thought overall the pacing held my interest. There is not a weak performance in the bunch. The vocals are stellar across the board. Ali Bourzgui brings depth to David's character, you can't take your eyes off him when he is on stage. Shoshana Bean's Wild at the top of Act II is a showstopper, and you can feel LJ Benet's excitement in his Broadway debut. The set design alone is enough reason to go see the show. It does a great job capturing the feel of the original movie, and the classic motorcycle scene is well adapted for the stage. It brings the '80s feel to the stage better than Stranger Things. Is it campy in a few places, absolutely. Does it add to the fun of the show overall? I'd say yes, it adds a lightness to a show that has some very dark and intense moments. I'd agree with the general opinion that it's greatest weakness is the final fight scene. After all the build-up of the show, it is over in seconds and feels a little anti-climactic. This is a show you want to see on Broadway. I don't know how well it will travel with all the sets and effects, and it is going to be hard to match the quality of the original cast. "

This is one Fly Musical
"This show is full of surprises and if you know anything about tech theater you're going to love it no matter what. If you've seen the movie you will appreciate how the adapted the material. But you don't need to have seen the movie too appreciate it. This music could have been a little catcher but overall the entire show was amazing."

Great spectacle, super nostalgic
"This show definitely hit the nostalgia spot for those who loved the movie. But it updated the story, and added some much needed context too, too.
Good show for for older kids... PG-13, maybe a little younger. Not suitable for younger children."

Great nostalgia
"Anyone who knows the original 80’s movie will love the show based on nostalgia alone…the sets are phenomenal—not just the unbelievably intricate and interesting and ever changing stage but the colors and designs of all of the props. The music was upper-mid, with some achingly beautiful harmonies and great voices standing out. The combo of the music and aerial scenes was truly breathtaking. The first part of the show was much stronger than the second part but overall a total blast and definitely worth seeing! "

Tim Cappello
"Brilliant show. I am a GEN Xer and have seen the movie over 200 times. I still have the laser disc of the movie.
This was novel and well done. The set design was the best I have ever seen of any show on or off Broadway.
The acting and singing was brilliant. Just a brilliant show that had tid bits from the movie that made it familiar to those of us old people and still exciting and new.
The homage to Tim Cappello was well done. I want to give this five stars but I cannot do that because I needed to hear the lyrics to “Still Believe” in some form or fashion. Even if the sax player played like four notes of the song it would have tied it all together. The boardwalk/Tim Cappello scene is the most iconic scene of the movie——It needs to be given the weight it deserves.
I would watch this again. It was excellent. "

Good show, limited view seating
"We enjoyed the show, even though the plot was different than the movie. Unfortunately the seats we purchased that were in the back of the mezzanine had a limiting view due to the balcony overhanging right above. That was not made clear to us when purchasing the tickets. We could not see the top half of the stage. The guests sitting to the right of us were just as confused as us when arriving to the seats as the view was not at all what any of us expected based on the seating map.
What we could see looked good and the voices and performance were great otherwise."

This show has taken up permanent residence in my brain!
"We saw “The Lost Boys” at the Palace Theatre, and someone is going to have to physically remove this show from my brain, because it has taken up permanent residence there. Some highs, some not so high— here’s my take.
First: Shoshana Bean. As Lucy Emerson, she is an absolute force of nature. That voice. That heart. That woman could sing the phone book and I would sob through every page. She brings raw, grounded humanity to a story about vampires on a California boardwalk — and somehow that makes complete sense, because she is just that good. My only complaint? She’s totally underused.
The rest of the cast deserves cudos as well. LJ Benet as Michael, Benjamin Pajak as Sam, Ali Louis Bourzgui as David — everyone brought it. The ensemble was fantastic and underappreciated, and the aerial choreography was pretty cool
The opening minutes blew me away, but the first act dragged a bit. Fortunately, Act 2 more than redeems it.
As for the 12 Tony nominations, including Best Musical — I’m genuinely torn. It’s a good show, but I’m not sure it’s innovative enough to stand at that level. Then again, the three shows we saw before this set the bar pretty high."

About
The Lost Boys, A New Musical
With 12 Tony AwardⓇ nominations, including Best Musical, The Lost Boys is the most Tony-nominated musical of 2026. It’s a “thrilling, blockbuster event” (People), “a breathtaking adventure unlike any musical seen before” (New York Post), and “the best new musical of the season” (The Washington Post).
When Lucy (two-time Tony AwardⓇ nominee Shoshana Bean) and her teenage sons Michael and Sam move to Santa Carla in desperate need of a fresh start, they soon uncover the darker side of this sunny coastal community. While Lucy tries to piece her family’s life back together, Michael keeps pulling away in search of belonging. As he finds connection with a local rock band and its charismatic leader, his younger brother Sam comes face-to-face with a startling reality: When night falls, Michael’s new friends are even more dangerous than they first appeared.
Based on the classic Warner Bros. film, The Lost Boys is “an eye-popping tour de force” (Chicago Tribune) directed by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Maybe Happy Ending, Parade). The production features music and lyrics by The Rescues, a book by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch, choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant (Parade), and music supervision by Tony nominee Ethan Popp (Tina). The Lost Boys is produced by James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson.
