Broadway box offices were on fire the week of July 26, with a whopping total of 11 shows grossing more than $1 million. Though it didn’t make the top five, God of Carnage managed a rare feat for a play, topping $1 million and leading the list for capacity in its final week before a summer hiatus. (The play will be back on September 8 for a fall run.) Broadway also said farewell to the Tony-winning revival of The Norman Conquests, and the ballroom dance show Burn the Floor began previews at the Longacre Theatre.
