Labor Day weekend brought a welcome uptick at the majority of Broadway’s box offices, as visitors enjoyed the final holiday of the summer. Half the shows played to greater than 90% of capacity, and five topped the magic $1 million mark. Appropriately enough, the office-based musical 9 to 5 ended its run just before Labor Day, grossing its best number in weeks ($689,795) before closing at the Marquis Theatre.
