Blame Halloween or the World Series, but with only a handful of exceptions, Broadway box office totals dropped across the board, in some cases more than $100,000 less than the previous week. The fall season had its first casualty, as the revival of Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs closed after just a week of performances at the Nederlander Theatre. As the original cast moves toward its final performances, God of Carnage again topped the frontrunners list for capacity.
