With the closing of four shows last week (including box office champs A Steady Rain and Hamlet) and a fifth on December 13 (The Royal Family), fewer titles are vying for attention on Broadway. The good news is that most shows saw an uptick as the holiday season gets into full swing. White Christmas (boosted by an extra performance) moved into the top five and A Little Night Music moved up the frontrunners’ list for capacity in its final week of previews. One of the biggest jumps came from a show that isn’t in the top five: Fela! took in $100,000 more than the previous week, a 25% increase.
