Santa arrived on Broadway right on time and left hefty receipts in the stockings of almost every box office. The witches of Wicked hauled in close to $2.1 million in a whopper of a holiday week, and nine other musicals crossed the coveted $1 million mark, with runner-up The Lion King topping $1.7 million.
