New York City Center Celebrates Stephen Sondheim

New York City Center celebrates Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday with an all-star benefit. John Doyle directs the event, which will fund City Center’s artistic and education programs as well as Young Playwrights Inc.

Scheduled to performed at the gala is Tom Aldredge, Len Cariou, Michael Cerveris, Claybourne Elder, Raúl Esparza, Sutton Foster, Alexander Gemignani, Joanna Gleason, Alexander Hanson, Mark Jacoby, Nathan Lane, Angela Lansbury, Debra Monk, Donna Murphy, Michele Pawk, Bernadette Peters, Jim Walton, B.D. Wong, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Chip Zien. Every performer is a veteran of at least one Sondheim production.

The evening begins cocktails at City Center, followed by the show and a post-performance dinner at the Plaza Hotel.
