As spring break visitors continued to stream into NYC, Broadway’s box offices remained perky, though not quite a strong as the previous week. On the plus side, The Addams Family keeps doing blockbuster business in previews, topping $1.3 million for the second week in a row. Two new musical productions got off to a strong start: American Idiot, featuring the music of Green Day, grossed more than $565,000 in just five performances; the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises starring Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes played to 100% capacity in its first preview.
