As families head back to school, Broadway’s grosses dipped slightly from the previous week. The big hits such as Wicked remained strong, but mid-list titles (to borrow a book industry term) slumped across the board, with 16 of 21 shows playing to less than 80% of capacity. With last week’s closing of Race, there are no plays currently running on the Great White Way, a situation that will change on September 3, when Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Mrs. Warren’s Profession begins previews at the American Airlines Theatre.
