Green Day fans came out in droves this past week to catch lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong make his Broadway debut in a special one-week-only stint in American Idiot. The musical took $1,092,334 to the bank, a staggering rise of more than $600,000 from the previous week's total. (In terms of capacity, Idiot jumped from filling 52.64% to 93.38% of the seats at the St. James Theatre.) In other "green" news, Wicked's emerald skinned witch, Elphaba, continued her reign as the show landed the top spot for both grosses and capacity.
