It’s been a few years since Rent has been on Broadway but that hasn’t kept the musical’s message from the mainstream. The most recent display was on the Canadian version of the popular TV dance competition So You Think You Can Dance, where Emmy Award-winning choreographer Mia Michaels displayed her trademark dramatic and emotional style as she orchestrated the show’s contestants into a dance of confusion, heartbreak and uncertainty to Rent’s “Will I?” The result was a poignant piece that highlights one of Rent’s lower profile songs through a touching interpretation.
