Casting has been announced for the national tour of Bring It On, which will launch at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre on October 30. The cast will be lead by newcomer Taylor Louderman as Campbell, Adrienne Warren (Dreamgirls) as Danielle, Ryann Redmond as Bridget, Elle McLemore (TV's Suite Life on Deck) as Eva and Jason Gotay (Rent) as Randall.
Inspired by the popular Bring It On film franchise, the musical ventures into the world of competitive cheerleading, where athletes learn that winning isn't everything when it means losing something, or someone, you really care about. Directed and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, the musical features a book by Jeff Whitty and score by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Kitt and Amanda Green.
The cast includes Ariana DeBose (Hairspray) as Nikita, Gregory Haney (Memphis) as La Cienega, Neil Haskell (So You Think You Can Dance) as Steven, Janet Krupin as Kylar, Kate Rockwell (Legally Blonde) as Skylar and Nick Womack as Twig. The ensemble also includes Calli Alden, Nikki Bohne, Dexter Carr, Shonica Gooden, Haley Hannah, Rod Harrelson, Casey Jamerso, Dominique Johnson, Michael Mindlin, Adrianna Parson and Bettis Richardson.
Bring It On also features some of the nation's most skilled competitive cheerleaders including Antwan Bethea, Danielle Carlacci, Michael Naone-Carter, Courtney Corbeille, Dahlston Delgado, Brooklyn A. Feitag, Melody Mills, David Ranck, Billie Sue Roe, Sheldon Tucker and Lauren Whitt.
The production will officially open at the Ahmanson Theatre on November 11 and run through December 10. The national tour will continue in San Francisco, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Des Moines, Chicago, St. Louis and more.
Bring It On received a developmental production earlier this year at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre with a cast that included Warren and Redmond.
