Before her recent appearance on Dancing With the Stars, Broadway superstar Kristin Chenoweth chatted with reporters backstage at the show and revealed, among other things, that she probably won’t be making a return appearance on Glee. "I don't think so," said Chenoweth of a Glee return, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I would love it, but I don't think [Glee creator] Ryan Murphy has any plans for April Rhodes."
Chenoweth’s Glee character was a drunken chanteuse brought in as a ringer by former classmate and current glee club coach Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). Rhodes returned in a later episode, the mistress of a wealthy tycoon and proprietress of a “cabaret roller rink” who ultimately left town to produce the first all-white version of The Wiz on Broadway. During her tenure on the show, Chenoweth knocked TV fans' socks off with numbers like “Maybe This Time” from Cabaret, “Alone” by Heart, “Last Name” by Carrie Underwood and “Home” from The Wiz.
"I sure loved her," Chenoweth said of her character. "She's a hot mess." Chenoweth was nominated for 2010 and 2011 Emmy Awards for the guest role.
