Complete casting has been announced for Playwrights Horizons' New York premiere of Dan LeFranc's The Big Meal. Directed by Sam Gold, the off-Broadway production will begin previews March 1 with an opening night set for March 21 at Playwrights Horizons’ Peter Jay Sharp Theater.
The complete cast includes David Wilson Barnes (Becky Shaw, The Lieutenant of Inishmore), Phoebe Strole (The Metal Children, Spring Awakening), Griffin Birney (Billy Elliot), Tom Bloom (Cyrano de Bergerac, Henry IV), Tony Award nominee Anita Gillette (Love, Loss and What I Wore), Jennifer Mudge (Dutchman, The Philanthropist), Rachel Resheff (Mary Poppins, Shrek) and Cameron Scoggins.
The Big Meal tells the extraordinary story of an ordinary family. Somewhere in America, in a typical suburban restaurant on a typical night, Sam and Nicole meet. Sparks fly, setting in motion an expansive tale that traverses five generations of a modern family, from first kiss to final goodbye.
The Big Meal will feature scenic and costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Mark Barton and sound design by Leah Gelpe.
