Music is the gift that keeps on giving. With that sentiment in mind, three-time Tony Award-winning Memphis composer and Bon Jovi rock star David Bryan headed to Washington, D.C. on July 23 to present a nine foot Steinway concert grand piano to the State Department’s collection as a symbol of the importance of music to our country. On hand to accept the melodious gift during a ceremony held in the Benjamin Franklin Ballroom at the Harry S. Truman State Department Building was the woman being honored by Bryan, Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton. The festive event included musical performances by Memphis' Kevin Massey, Dan’yelle Williamson and Bryan, who couldn’t resist a chance to tickle the ivories of the newly gifted piano.
