Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today.
Josh Gad Needs to Return to Broadway, Stat
Book of Mormon Tony nominee Josh Gad did a number, below, on Dancing with the Stars on September 29 and reminded us why we miss him on Broadway. Really miss him. Here's the thing, Mr. Gad, we know you've got your fancy film career going, that you were promoting The Wedding Ringer with Kevin Hart and you're now officially going to be doing Olaf again for the Frozen short film, but the Great White Way needs to borrow you back. We've got the perfect role for you. Pretty please.
Earl Carpenter's in Les Miz a Few Days More
You’ve got a little longer to catch Earl Carpenter as Javert in Broadway’s Les Miserables. The star will now remain in the production through October 7; Will Swenson, who was on hiatus to lead Bull Durham, is set to return to the part on October 8. Hopefully he’ll have time to stop off at Eggfartopia before resuming his exertions on the Imperial Theatre's boards.
Annie Potts Withdraws From Steel Magnolias
Great White Way vet Annie Potts has had to withdraw from Atlanta's Alliance Theatre's production of Steel Magnolias owing to health considerations following knee surgery. Beth Broderick will be stepping into the role of M’Lynn this fall. We wish Potts a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in Ann, if not before.
NPH Won the Tony for Dry Humping
Neil Patrick Harris stopped by CBS' The Late Show on September 29 and revealed to host David Letterman how he won the 2014 for Hedwig: dry humping. We're not making this up—watch the clip below!
