Look who’s back! Tony nominee Lily Rabe will return to American Horror Story for Freak Show as Sister Mary Eunice, the sinister role she took on for the show’s second season—Asylum. According to Entertainment Weekly, Rabe will appear in the tenth episode (the winter finale). The news trails closely behind the announcement that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka will also appear in the fourth season.
Rabe’s Broadway credits include Seminar, The Merchant of Venice (for which she received a Tony nod), The American Plan, Heartbreak House and Steel Magnolias. This summer, she starred in the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing. Her additional screen credits include The Whispers, All Good Things, No Reservations, Mona Lisa Smile, The Good Wife and Nip/Tuck.
AHS freaks will note that Sister Mary Eunice is the second Asylum character to appear in Freak Show, following Naomi Grossman’s Pepper. Freak Show’s storyline predates Asylum’s by about a decade, so we will presumably get a peek into Mary Eunice’s early years before Briarcliff. Now, can we get Zachary Quinto to wear that f*cking terrifying mask again?!
