London's The Shape of Things to Close June 12

The West End mounting of Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things, which is headlined by Alicia Witt, will end its run at the New Ambassadors Theatre on June 12, less than a month after it opened there.

The Shape of Things is a disturbing drama about an awkward young man, Adam Enzo Cilenti, who embarks on a relationship with a manipulative woman Witt. James Murray plays Adam's best friend, James, and Sienna Guillory portrays James' fiancé.

After two out-of-town tryouts, The Shape of Things, directed by Julian Webber, opened at the New Ambassadors on May 17. In his review of the production, Nicholas de Jongh of The Evening Standard wrote: "The Shape Of Things lasts 85 minutes, but it provokes, fascinates and agitates like the memory of a nightmare the morning after. The climactic scene when the anti-heroine art student, Evelyn, shamelessly reveals how and why she has exploited her victim, Adam, did not seem unduly nasty at the time of its London premiere three years ago. Now, in Julian Webber's elegant production which flourishes in this intimate space, Evelyn's nonchalant confession and Adam's anguished reaction hit home."
