Howard McGillin is set to star opposite Cathy Rigby in the latest national tour of the musical adaptation of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, a production spokesperson confirmed to Broadway.com. McGillin will play Captain Hook and Mr. Darling.
McGillin earned a Tony Award nomination and a Theatre World Award for his Broadway debut in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. He also earned a Tony nomination for his lead work in Anything Goes. His most recent Broadway credit is playing the Phantom in the long-running The Phantom of the Opera. His other Broadway credits include The Secret Garden, Kiss of the Spider Woman, She Loves Me and Sunday in the Park with George. He also recently starred in Bounce at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and at Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center.
This new tour of Peter Pan, directed by Glenn Casale, will kick-off at the La Mirada Theatre in California. It will then continue on a 21-city tour that will end in Atlanta, Georgia in July 2005.
The tour will also star Elisa Sagardia as Wendy and Dana Solimando as Tiger Lilly. Further casting is expected to be announced next week.
