The Glass Menagerie Opening Moved to March 22; Slater Starts Perfs 3/8

The now-previewing Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie has pushed up its opening a week to accommodate new leading man Christian Slater. The show will now open on March 22, with Slater's first performance as Tom Wingfield set for Tuesday, March 8. Understudy Joey Collins will continue in the role until that time.

The Glass Menagerie started previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on February 24, just days after the announcement that original star Dallas Roberts had left the production and that Slater would be stepping in.

Directed by David Leveaux, The Glass Menagerie also stars Jessica Lange as Amanda Wingfield, Sarah Paulson as Laura Wingfield and Josh Lucas as The Gentleman Caller.
