Because of an injury to actress Lily Rabe, Roundabout Theatre Company's off-Broadway revival of Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart has delayed its opening by one week. The play, which began previews on January 18 and had been scheduled to open on February 7, will now open on February 14 at the Laura Pels Theatre, directed by Kathleen Turner.
According to a news release from Roundabout , Rabe sustained an injury during rehearsal that caused her to miss a week of preview performances. She returned to the show last week.
The original Broadway production of Crimes of the Heart opened on November 11, 1981, and played for 535 performances. Henley won the Pulitzer Prize for the play. Roundabout's off-Broadway production is a limited engagement scheduled to run through April 13.
