Lisa Kron Reunites with Scribe Deb Margolin in Time Off-Broadway

Tony nominee Lisa Kron will reunite with playwright Deb Margolin when she stars in Time is the Mercy of Eternity, a new play by the Obie Award winner. The evening of four one-act plays, directed by Marc Stuart Weitz, will begin performances on April 21 and open on April 22 at the West End Theatre.

Time is the Mercy of Eternity is comprised of four short plays about the effects of love, violence, and obsession on the body and soul. It features snapshots from the lives of a harried bus driver, the parents of a fallen Iraq war hero, an actress heading toward tragedy and a woman teetering on the brink of insanity.

Kron was twice-nominated for a Tony Award in 2006 as a performer and as a playwright for her acclaimed work Well. She also wrote and starred off-Broadway in 2.5 Minute Ride, which received an Obie Award in addition to Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations. She is a founding member of the Obie and Bessie Award-winning Five Lesbian Brothers Theatre Company.

Margolin received an Obie in 1999 for Sustained Excellence of Performance. She was awarded the 2005 Kesselring Prize for Playwriting for Three Seconds in the Key, a play about her own experience with Hodgkin's disease. She is set to receive the Helen Merrill Established Playwright Award on April 8.

This production reunites Margolin and Kron, who both began their careers at downtown's WOW Café as members of respective feminist performance troupes.

Time is the Mercy of Eternity also stars Curzon Dobell, Khris Lewin and Clair Siebers.
