Miles C. Wilkin, the man who helped lead The Producers, Chicago and Hairspray to Tony Award-winning glory, has been named the new CEO of Broadway Across America, the premiere producer and presenter of live theatrical events in the United States and Canada. An industry veteran of 30 years, Wilkin was instrumental in establishing and building the theatrical touring industry in the United States. He steps in for Steve Winton, BAA’s industry leader and executive for 18 years, who will continue with the company as President, reporting to the new CEO.
Wilkin began his executive career in 1982 when he became President, CEO and Founder of Pace Theatrical Group, Inc. and created the network that eventually became Broadway Across America. In 1992, he was chosen as President and CEO of parent company Pace Entertainment Company. They were acquired 1996 and became SFX Theatrical Group, where Wilkin served as Chairman and CEO. After SFX was acquired by Clear Channel Entertainment in 2000, Wilkin then served as CEO for Clear Channel Entertainment Europe for three years, before returning to New York to be the Executive Vice President of Clear Channel from October 2003 through September 2004, as well as its COO from Sptember 2004 through September 2005.
Mr. Wilkin is also the recipient a Lifetime Achievement Award from the League of American Theatres and Producers/The Broadway League, and has won six Tony Awards as a producer of Spamalot, Hairspray, The Producers, the 1991 revival of Fiddler on the Roof, 1990 revival of Gypsy and Jerome Robbins’ Broadway.
Owned by Key Brand Entertainment, Broadway Across America presents first-class touring Broadway musicals and plays, family productions and other live events throughout a network of 43 North American cities. Its current shows include Wicked, The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, West Side Story, Blithe Spirit, Hair, the holiday hit White Christmas and Dora the Explorer, as well as the upcoming Minsky’s.
