With the summer solstice come the summer vacationers, eager to enjoy a night out at the theater. No wonder more than half the shows currently running on Broadway played to more than 90% of capacity for the week ending on Father’s Day. Six musicals topped the magic $1 million mark, and the smash-hit play God of Carnage came close, grossing a whopping $969,291. Though it just missed the top five, Hair set another record at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre with a total of $1,094,747 for the week.
