Nostalgia and Memories
"I loved this show. The music was outstanding! It brought back memories of my father and my uncles playing guitar and singing some of these songs. I loved how authentic and inspiring the music was. I felt as if I were in Puerto Rico, where I was born and raised, in the midst of history. I also appreciated the underlying message of unity and never forgetting where we come from. Music and culture are a great way to remember that, as "Caribeños," we derive from Africans, Native people (Taínos), and the colonists who came to these islands in search of money and opportunities without taking into consideration the social and political challenges of the times. It was well done and a great way to remember that we are more similar than different, and that is the music that reminds us of that. I wanted to jump out of my seat and dance! Great performance, bravo!"
