"I brought my 80-year-old father on his first trip to NYC to see Buena Vista Social Club. Before ther show even started, we noticed that the ushers and other staff were friendly and attentive. At one point before the show, an usher brought me a seat cushion because she noticed that, as a short person, it was challenging for me to see the stage, even from the third row.
The show itself was fantastic. The energy level was amazing and it looked like the actors and musicians were truly having a great time. We attended a "dance-along" performance and were surprised to see Rachel Zegler at the start of the performance make a few announcements. I had mixed feelings about the audience getting up and dancing during the show. It was a bit distracting from the actual performers, as many of the audience members seemed to take this as an opportunity to show off and "perform" for other audience members rather than simply moving to the music. But admittedly, the incredible music is tough to resist!
The plot is a bit thin, but the star of the show is really the music, and clearly the musicians, actors, and dancers were at peak performance level. If you love Latin music, this is a must-see."
