Taste of reality
"We all know someone like Willy. A bizarre mash up of Ralph Kramden and Wile E. Coyote. Forever the optimist but can't get anywhere because seeing his own shortcomings is beyond him. You root for him and the Loman family but they too have been infected by this virus that leaves them on that hamster wheel. Except for maybe the matriarch played perfectly by L.Metcalf. She painfully stays by his side while understanding she can't save him from himself."

"This was one of the best if not, the best performances I have ever went to. We live in the city and we go to many plays. Nathan Lane and LAURIE Metcalf were unbelievable. I have no words. The young Biff and the mature Biff were magnificent. I can’t even believe how wonderful it was. I left there using a lot of tissues, it really hit me and my husband. The performances were unbelievable. Do not hesitate to see this show your jaw will drop. Hurry and go see it before it’s too late. Thank you for the most magnificent performances. A warning to families
"The performances were excellent, front to back, top to bottom - super acting. Expressing and conveying.
The sets and the time changes were a bit confusing. Where were they? Why is the car still there? Is this a current scene or a flashback?
I did not appreciate this today, as much as I did earlier. There are feelings about post-depression and post- WW2 life in the US that a younger audience won't bring. I am an older audience who doesn't remember those feeling as easily. Miller would have written this a bit differently for a 2026 audience.
The chats about 1949 Dollars were tough to process, so a little help there, too.
All small stuff. The characters and their traits, joys and pains were written and presented GREAT.
Irony: I commented to my wife that the only family member I fully respected was Mom, who constantly tried to improve bad situations caused by others. My wife responded critically about Mom's handling of the others in certain scenes! "

"An excellent play, though overly long, especially the first act. It badly needed an editor. Phenomenal acting, particularly Mr. and Mrs. Loman. Interesting how less sympathetic and more self centered Willy Loman became as the play unfolded. Not the best play I've ever seen, (The Ferryman holds that honor,) but definitely worth seeing."

Death of a Salesman Revival Bares America's Fears and Contradictions
"Bravo. This is a terrific rendition of Arthur Miller's mining of American mythologies, channeled through Willy Loman, who is Everyman. It is moving, thought-provoking and, ultimately, scary due its very real portrayal of the constant wreckage in people's lives caused by corporate America and fealty to the almighty dollar no matter the cost. Nathan Lane leads a (predominately) superb cast. He respects the original text, of course, while extracting new depths to this heavily flawed and delusional individual. Laurie Metcalf is a joy to watch, as she watches the man she loves crash in slow motion. Her rage at the deteriorating on stage is thrilling to watch. The show is a terrific reminder of the transformational nature of theater and makes one pine for more straight plays. "
