A Gem
" Nathan Lane was made for this part, no doubt about it, he delivers and outstanding performance. Laurie Metcalf almost steals the show single-handedly, she creates/embodies this flesh and bone character with such truthfulness, she is so flawless that you can almost feel the actress completely disappear, she is the revelation of this cast. The scene with Biff (Christopher Abbot) and Willy (Lane) at the end is so intense, I had to literally rush and cover my mouth with both hands because it broke me, the tears would not stop. This play is a gem, it’s real, sometimes tough; and that I think is the point of art, it has to move you, it has to make you feel, and make you laugh and cry and break you and teach you."

"Nathan Lane at his best in an emotional and intense role as the Salesman. When he came out at the end of the show with the rest of the cast, he was clearly still feeling the impact of his character with tears on his face. Laurie Metcalf as Linda and their two sons, Christopher Abbott and Ben Athleta equally portrayed the emotion of their characters. The show had a profound effect on the audience. DEATH OF A SALESMAN WAS SPECTACULAR!
"The production of Arthur Miller's DEATH OF A SALESMAN was spectacular. The cast was superb, the theatrical settings worked well, and the presentation was top shelf.
As far as Mr. Nathan Lane is concerned - his talent and interpretive abilities are beyond question BUT the way he puts it across the footlights is totally engrossing as well as spellbinding. Finally, I don't know how he can go home and sleep afterwards.
I am sure he is exhausted because of the fervor he puts into the Willie Loman character BUT mentally, how does he adjust and recover so as to perform the role again on the next night,
I have seen the play many times by different performers i.e. Lee J. Cobb to Dustin Hoffman. Thank you for a truly memorable evening of superb NYC Theatre. BRAVO!
