One of the all time best plays
"The acting was wonderful. This is a brilliant play by a brilliant playwright. It is timeless. I have seen it many times and the play is always moving, an incredible character study and importantly psychological. It was interesting to see the very spare set with a car as it’s only reality. Each revival has some new element for one’s attention. "

Death of a Salesman
"Classic tragedy of the psychological and emotional toll of reaching for the American dream. Willie Logan is flawed, terribly delusional, but prideful nonetheless. "

Griping Play
"I am still thinking about Death of a Salesman a day after I saw it. I don’t think I have ever been this emotionally connected to a play. The acting was so good I sat on the edge of my seat listening to every word. Nathan Lane was superb and became Willy Loman. Laurie Metcalf was equally as good. What a treat to see this play"

Breathtaking, Astonishing, Powerful
"I have loved this play for years, but never before have I experienced a version that left me utterly speechles. I held my breath throughout both acts, until the final, devastating last moment. The performances were pitch perfect; the set - so thoughtfully rendered; every single thing was spot on. I loved it and would highly recommend it.
Two tiny details that I found curious: the milk carton used in the play was not one that would have been used in 1949; neither was the coffee up - which looked like. a Starbucks cup. Slight details - but the rest of the play was so thoughtful, I wondered why the set designers chose those. Again, minor. The rest of the play - one of the highlights of my theatre experience. "

"I watched two veteran actors perform an American version of a classical Greek tragedy.
How could that be anything but magnificent?"

DOS had me sitting up, had me hoping until…
"This is a family, like so many others; complex, imperfect, bungling and often too harsh. The mistakes, misunderstandings, pride and self delusion held me… I couldn’t avoid feelings of empathy for the Lomans, as several others theatre-goers sobbed and sniffled nearby. This story touches upon nerves, brings to mind our own experiences, and resolves, as life so often does, with fits and starts."

A stunningly fresh perspective on a timeless masterpiece
"As soon as I heard that Nathan Lane was taking on the role of Willy Lowman I knew I had to experience it. I came in with high expectations, especially after reading other people's reviews. What I experienced was a performance that will stick with me for the rest of my life in both its beauty and haunting mirror of my own existential reflections.
Every actor gave a truly honest performance allowing the script to live and breath with new perspective. As much as everyone cast deserves their flowers, for me, Christopher Abbott completely blew my mind. Throughout the show, he mimics the speech patterns and voice sound of Willy in a way that a son naturally would, intensifying the youthful regret of Willy's personal life in his Son.
The set is masterful, and the lighting design casting shadows across a dark decaying world perfectly sets the tone for this emotionally gripping descent into madness and regret.
My only regret is that I can't see it again and again. "

Death of a salesman is incredible
"Death of a Salesman at the Winter Garden is a superb production that brings fresh energy and emotional depth to Arthur Miller’s classic. Nathan Lane is outstanding, delivering a performance that is both powerful and deeply human. The three other leads are equally strong, creating a compelling ensemble whose chemistry drives the story’s emotional impact."
