"Terrific singing and dancing. The understudy was amazing and was outstanding in showcasing the character of the mother Rose. The costumes and staging were effective. Enjoyed the burlesque dancers and the story line from vaudeville to burlesque. So much talent on one stage!
"I was very impressed that as long as this play has been around the production was fresh and all the actors were terrific! We attended a Saturday matinee and the understudy for Audra Mc Donald played the lead. She was terrific and gave it her all along with the rest of the cast! My only complaint would be that the seats are too small for a person over 6 ft! There is nothing anyone can do about that but that’s the only complaint I had! The theater is beautiful!"

"Audra McDonald! The amazingly talented Audra McDonald owned this show! I have yet to see some of the classics so am always thrilled when Broadway does revivals. So great to experience where some of my favorite songs originated from. Joy Woods absolutely held her own alongside the lady of Broadway in a gorgeous and surprising production. Get ready to lose your socks
"Audra will knock your socks off! Her final number alone is worth the cost of admission, and Danny Burstein is amazing as well. The entire cast gives a fine ensemble performance. The sound balance was a bit off - Audra was over-mic-ed, I think. She has such a big voice anyway that she needs minimal mic-ing, IMHO.
The vocal blend of the young Louise and June in their duets was superb. "Baby June" was a bit too one-dimensional and cliche-ish, even for a child performer. She seemed angry all the time, even though she got all of Mama Rose's attention initially. These are small quibbles, however in an otherwise outstanding production. DO go see it!"

"This was my 4th Broadway show and it’s hands-down the BEST ONE YET!!! I’d been wanting to Danny Burstein and Audra McDonald for several years and when I saw Audra’s IG announcement last May I knew this was the opportunity of a lifetime. Audra, Danny, Joy, Jordan and the entire rest of the cast lived up to every expectation I was hoping for. I’ve loved “Gypsy” since I first saw the 1962 film version with Rosalind Russell and Natalie Wood and it’s taken the last 28 years since then to see it on stage… it was definitely worth the wait as this is the definitive Gypsy production. Inspired by the early life of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, this new production is directed by George C. Wolfe and choreographed by Camille A.
